From the East
My Brothers,
On May the 10th EA Brother Pottmeyer passed his proficiency as an Entered Apprentice and was passed to the degree of Fellow Craft.
By the time you read this we will have a new Entered Apprentice. On May 31st we will have initiated Mr. Crowley into our honored Fraternity.
Boatnik will be over and as of this writing, our Child ID team will have provided more than 140 parents or guardians with Child ID.
My thanks and gratitude to those Brothers who manned the Child ID and special recognition to Brother Leach for his efforts in setting up the new hardware, software, and new interior decoration.
The new decoration was designed and painted by Brother Orme’s daughter Charlotte. My thanks and appreciation to all for their efforts.
We will be dark in July and August and I anticipate renovations happening in the lodge dining, kitchen, and lavatories.
I believe we will have a candidate for our outdoor degree on 12 July.
So even though we will be dark, we will not be idle.
See you on June 7th at Stated Meeting.

And Part On The Square
From the West
My Brethren,
With the summer season approaching let us remember that with the warmer days people are out and about in greater numbers. Let us take precaution and not stay in the norm. When the heat is rising so does one’s temper so let us not have them get the best of us.
It is good to see that we have Brothers progressing in the degrees and candidates in waiting to be brought to light. Let us continually do our job to make the best of this, and to assist in the betterment of those wishing this knowledge.
As planned the lodge is hosting a dad’s day dinner. I have offered to have it be held at my house since I have a pool. You are invited to join in the fellowship and BBQ festivities, and if you want, you have the option to go swimming. You can contact me by my cell phone to confirm your attendance and to know where the event is at. 702-266-5544 a Text or call works fine. I will respond to both.

And Meet on the Level.
As an additional note, I came across this poem just after brother Urie’s passing and thought I would share it.
Grandpa’s Wooden Chest
I hated to hear the lawyer say. The things my grandpa gave away. Like his old truck to Dad and Mom and world war medals to Uncle John. My name was called, and something was said about an old wooden box underneath his bed.
Just a worn-out chest with a rusty hinge, but I knew Grandpa kept something special within. When I opened the lid, all I could see were some unused tools and a letter to me.
A large fancy cloth with two long strings a small wooden hammer among other things. He wrote a man’s job is to be a good husband father and a friend. I built my life as best I could by the tools laid here within.
He said the compasses remind me that life has boundaries so, live your life within the square proves true and so should you when dealing with all your friends. Be an honorable man and walk uprightly according to the plumb. The level teaches us treat all men equal instead of only some.
And now it’s your turn to start your journey for knowledge, love, and faith so, live your life by the Square and Compasses and tools of your trade. Many years have passed by since I first opened, Grandpa’s wooden chest the tools he gave me, the words he wrote the challenge to be my best.
Today I’ll visit Grandpa at the place where he was laid to let him know he can be proud I’m a Master of my trade.
